Spend the first ten minutes of your day creating your art---be it writing, painting, sketching, photographing, etc. whatever it is...do it for ten minutes without doing any thinking or planning. Use an egg timer or a watch with an alarm.
After creating your ten minute piece---put it away in a file, or folder, or portfolio. At the end of the week look at your work. You might choose to discard some and keep some. You might choose to have others comment on the work. You might even decide to expand some into much larger works.
Creating Good Habits that Help
You Create!
The importance is this:
1. Get into the habit of doing your artwork even if you don't have any paid jobs to do. Creating art is a muscle that must be worked each day or it atrophies!
2. You're creating work that comes without a lot of self-censoring.
3. It's a great way to generate ideas. Experiment with different tools, mediums and environments.
